Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppies are a great choice for people all
across the country. Cavalier Spaniels are extremely intelligent, obedient,
and are very affectionate. They are able to be flexible enough for a
country or city environment. Cavaliers are very easy going and are great
with children and seniors because of their small size. Our cavaliers
usually weight 9-15 pounds as adults and are defect free. Before
buying make sure you are ready for a puppy and have a schedule that they
can fit into. We try to supply enough information for new owners as
possible on the breed and what needs to happen. If you do not see an
answer to any question on our puppies please email me. I have multiple
ways of sharing information and use our
Blog
and FAQ
for several Defects such as bad hips, knees, heart murmurs, eye problems are not in our dogs or at least dormant enough in their genes to prevent it. Please take this seriously especially if you are a breeder or see any future litters. All it takes is parent to create a new line of problems so research your dogs. When you
get your puppy he or she will most likely be very energetic or
very submissive or both at the same time. When transferring from our
quiet farm to a city airport and a ride home they will have everything
they know "throwed out the window" for awhile. They will adjust
quickly and Potty Training is just a matter of repetition. As soon as he/she gets acquainted with you and their new stomping grounds introduce them to your yard or whatever area where you want them to do business. After they eat or drink take them back to that spot. Once they go back and smell that scent it is an automatic signal of the area to do business in. Food: We use Royal Canin Small Breed Puppy Food. You can find the
nearest retailer by visiting
www.royalcanin.us and entering your zip code. We also have their food
available for them 24/7 as they do not eat a lot at once typically. If
you do have the time and money a meat diet with rice and other veggies
can be a great way to go. Care and Maintenance on Cavaliers is fairly simple. Hair
on Cavaliers takes around a year or more to fully fill out on their
ears, legs, stomach, and tail. They fill out in 2 years and will
generally stay that size unless obese or underweight. Combing their hair
once a day keeps the knots away. Generally they do not require much
brushing besides making sure their curls do not get tangled. You will
need to trim their ear hair in their ears after they are full grown if
it comes in thick. Trimming the hair on the feet takes a lot of dirt out
of the house if they go outdoors often. As all dogs they will need their
nails trimmed periodically. I suggest buying the nice dog nail clippers
for a quick clean cut. ALWAYS leave nail below the "Quick". Do not
bathe them more than once a week. When you do bathe them please dry them
off with a hair dryer on the COLD setting or be extremely careful if you
use any heat. Cages for Apartments can be purchased on the net and are fairly cheap on eBay. I suggest at least a 6 foot by 4 foot area for them while your gone. I much rather see a bigger area but sometimes it works BUT you must give them plenty of exercise and attention when leaving a dog alone in a confined area or they will act out by chewing things up and bad behavior. Cavaliers are not badly behaved but as any dog if they are not trained they will do as they please. Make sure to always let them know you are the one in control whether its a poodle or horse. To get more info see our blog, email us or just do a good Google search. Places such as ckcs.org have a lot of info on ever aspect and questions from the general public. These forum style websites are great for looking up information on the breed along with general question and answer.
More on the way. My E-Book was erased somehow but it needed revision. If you have a topic please email it to us. We try to help people understand the what a cavalier is and what we have to offer. |
